Fibrix: Special Applications.

Fibrix has over 50 years of experience in the intricate process steps of manufacturing high-quality nonwovens used across a wide range of residential and commercial applications. Our nonwoven manufacturing capabilities include several special applications that provide superior durability at competitive prices.

Densified Fiber

Densified fiber uses a unique blend of high- and low-melting point fibers that are layered and then thermally bonded, creating a firmer product. The bonding process also seals the surface,-enhancing, hydrophobic properties and making them ideal for indoor and outdoor applications.

Calendaring

Calendaring, a form of thermal bonding, uses heated rollers to compress and bond fibers and create perfectly finished components. Using our extensive background in nonwoven manufacturing, we’re able to produce high-quality nonwovens customized to meet our clients’ unique needs, including:

  • High-Luster Finishing
  • Glazing
  • Embossed Patterns

Lamination

Lamination is the process of bonding two or more layers of material together, which is often the case with sleeping cores and cushions. Resin or thermal bonding are often used to fuse layers together, preventing slippage and ensuring uniform adhesion.

Soft Goods

When our customers require quality nonwovens with a soft touch, they turn to us for our extensive experience in creating processes that produce soft, fluffy nonwovens. We use specialized carding techniques to create fiber densities as low as 0.5 ounces per square foot.

Enhancing Additives

At Fibrix, we strive to produce precision-crafted nonwovens that meet our client’s needs exactly. We have extensive experience in custom nonwovens, including applying special additives to improve antimicrobial and other enhanced features.
