Nonwoven web formation is the art of arranging fibers to achieve specific characteristics. For example, when laid parallel to each other nonwoven fibers can provide higher resilience and tensile strength. While more random webs create higher lofts and elasticity.
Web Formation Capabilities
Here at Fibrix, we take pride in exceeding expectations and strive to continually improve our processes. Over the years we have built a reputation as a leading provider of custom precision-crafted nonwovens by using the latest innovations in web formation to produce exceptional results. Our facilities have extensive web formation capabilities that separate and align the fibers to create densities between 0.5 ounces per square foot and 13 ounces per square foot.
Carding
Carding builds an interlocking network of fibers by arranging the strands in a particular order using high-speed carding machines, and can produce excellent tensile strength and durability. Changing the directional flow of the fibers alters the end product’s characteristics. We work closely with each client to develop custom web formation that meets their exact requirements.
Garnetting
Garnetting is a web formation method that uses mechanical and air-driven processes that separate the fibers, creating high-loft unbonded soft goods and other nonwovens. Garnetting also helps reduce material waste by repurposing fibers for different applications.
Comprehensive Services
Here at Fibrix, we are dedicated to providing our customers with superior customer service. We use the latest processes to customize fiber blends to our client’s unique specifications with capabilities in high-quality recycled and virgin polyester and bicomponent polymers. Our multiple manufacturing facilities offer a range of bonding methods, such as thermal and resin bonding, that often go hand-in-hand with custom web formations, fabrication, and special applications.
